About the author

Christine Smith is British.  She is the daughter of a minister and played a major part in her parents' ministry. She married Chris, a minister's son, who also played a major part in his parents’ ministry. Chris is a Minister, a Bible college lecturer, missionary, and an itinerant preacher in the UK, USA, Romania, Spain.

In the 1960s, Chris and Christine toured the UK as ‘Kris and Kristine’ - The Sunshine Evangelists' and Christine was a children's evangelist during this period.

In 1970, They were called in a dramatic and unique way, to take the gospel to Spanish gypsies living in caves in a remote and mountainous part of Southern Spain which was during the cruel rule of General Franco. They were surprised on their arrival to discover that they were the very first missionaries to arrive in the area with the gospel and help for the poor, but were confronted with danger from the system.

In 1990, Chris & Christine are the founders of Kings Evangelical Divinity School. Their eldest son Calvin is now Director.

In 1994, Christine established the very first European branch of the FGF, building up a membership of over one hundred ordained ministers in a year.

In 1999, Christine received a burden from God, to open an International church service in an isolated mountainous region of Southern Spain. It was the very first and it brought together Christians and non-Christians alike, who expressed how they had been living in loneliness and isolation. Christine's vision resulted in tourists, and holiday-makers from various countries coming to know the Lord, who then returned home to their respective countries to seek out a church/fellowship for the first time to begin a new life of following the Lord. What is more, Christine's vision inspired others, so fellowships started to sprout up in the surrounding areas, injecting much needed life and hope into a previously spiritually barren location.

Missions Trips: Chris and Christine have visited Romania more than 40 times taking aid and vital equipment to orphanages, hospitals, and churches. They have rented huge trucks packed with urgent dental equipment, furniture, and medicines, and supplied the materials and the plumbers to install showers and toilets in the orphanages, as well as in individual Christian homes. Their younger son lived in Romania to oversee distribution. Their entire family have taken thousands of gifts and warm clothing for the children at Christmas-times.

Chris and Christine have also been caring and catering for homeless Christian Romanian families in Spain for a number of years - supplying their basic needs so as to help them make a better life for their destitute families. Christine's desire to help those who have fallen on hard times, in Spain, and in Romania, has relieved the poverty and eased the burden of many Christians. In Romania especially, Chris & Christine enjoy a huge welcome and great appreciation from wives and parents who have benefited from Chris & Christine’s help, some having been able to buy shoes for the first time!

Chris & Christine have three children and 6 grandchildren.
